Senior Business Intelligence Specialist
Up to 16 month contract based in Canberra
This role is Canberra Based and candidates must be in the office a minimum of 3 days per week.

Our Govt client is looking for a Power BI Data Engineer to join the Digital Transformation Program to work across several data and analytics platforms. The candidate will design, build, and optimise Power BI solutions, with strong expertise in data modelling, SQL, and Azure Databricks. The ideal candidate will have experience in Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and Git version control, ensuring scalable and well-structured data products. This role is highly collaborative, requiring close engagement with business stakeholders and development teams to deliver high-quality, user-driven insights.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Strong expertise in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query (M), and advanced data visualisation techniques.
• Proficiency in SQL for data transformation, query optimisation, and data modelling.
• Experience working with Azure Databricksfor data processing and analytics.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factoryfor orchestrating and automating data workflows.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including business users, analysts, and developers, to improve BI solutions and data infrastructure.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical implementation.

Must have baseline clearance at a minimum.
